The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, commonly known as the U.S. Open Cup (USOC), is a knock-out cup competition in American soccer. It is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the U.S. The competition will be contested by 100 clubs from the four professional leagues sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation: Major League Soccer (MLS), the United Soccer League’s Championship and League One divisions, and the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), as well as amateur clubs in the earlier rounds of the tournament after qualifying through their leagues. The overall champion earns a total of $300,000 in prize money, while the runner-up receives $100,000, and the furthest-advancing team from each lower division league receives $25,000. In addition, the tournament winner qualifies for the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Werner Fricker Open Cup
The Werner Fricker Cup is named after the past President of US Soccer and is an extension of the National Challenge Cup that was first played in 1913. The winners were awarded the Dewar Cup and for most of its history, those who lifted the Open Cup were amateur and semi-amateur clubs. With the participation of professional sides, US Soccer renamed the competition the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. In 1999, US Adult Soccer established the Werner Fricker Cup to recognize the champion among its own participants in recognition of the past winners who kept the competition played throughout the century.
Amateur Cup
The National Amateur Cup was established in 1923. This tournament is the premier tournament for competitive amateur teams in the U.S. Teams qualify for the tournament by entering at the state or regional level. The finalist from each of the four regions advances to the National Amateur Cup final which is hosted by one of the four finalists.
